We have been traveling to Abkhazia for more than 10 years.
Araucaria is always a favorite place to eat. We visited various establishments, and the Abbot's restaurant, the Tea House, the Gagripshe... but we returned here every time. This vacation was no exception and, as usual, we visited this place every day. A man has been working in this institution for many years who cooks delightfully on the grill, so we always take a dish on the grill. A year ago we were also in this institution, we usually order a rack of lamb, it was not available, we ordered lamb flesh, we were disappointed, the meat was stringy, it's good that there is always a big dog next to it, she had dinner. This year, without changing traditions, we ordered 10 pieces of lamb, the meat was fried well, but! Should I bring 6 pieces of a square and 4 pieces from a spatula?! We were celebrating a family date and we didn't want a showdown, but the sediment remained. In Araucaria, perhaps, the most delicious pie with tsarsky cheese, we came off to the fullest, took it a day later, ate "from the belly", also took two home, I definitely recommend trying it, the pie is big.
I don't want to write a bad review, because in general the institution is decent, there have never been stomach problems, live music with a good repertoire is not bad, there is a large gazebo covered, and tables in the air, near the fountain, closer, or away from the music, in general, wherever your heart desires. The locals also speak well of this place and often go there themselves. Pleasant, hospitable management. Always fast, attentive service, but not this year.
The waiters are not efficient, indifferent to the guests, as if they don't exist at all, you can't wait for the menu, and if you make an order, you can fall asleep. A plump, dark-haired woman with short hair, most likely a cook, constantly shouted how tired she was of everything, the waiters laughed at the top of their lungs, frolicked with themselves. This is despite the fact that many competitive cafes and restaurants have already been opened in staraya Gagra, and there are not so many people. We have known this institution for many years and trust it, but others will not return there anymore. I feel sorry for people who have earned a good name for themselves for many years, have been maintaining staff for many years, and paying salaries to those who cannot or do not want to work.
Dear management, drive them away with a filthy broom!
