The view is very beautiful, the pool is warm, and since there are pebbles on the sea, crowds (and we are not fans of the sea) - we had enough of the pool, sun loungers, cleanliness, a group of guests)))
The staff is pleasant, the upper floors seem to be more recent in terms of technology. Washing is 200 rubles, you vacuum yourself, once a day they put things in order, make up and maybe wash the floor + take out the garbage.
We walked to the sea 1 time, we didn't have enough for more, then by car. Since we travel to Abkhazia only by our own transport, the location relative to the sea and the rest of the resort movement has not affected so much. From the hotel - on foot, and back by taxi 500 rubles.

We rest for the second time in this hotel, I like the location, the view from the room (all rooms have sea views), daily cleaning, had dinner a couple of times in the cafe downstairs (quite tasty, affordable). The pool and sauna are good. The only thing I would like is full-fledged wardrobes in the rooms.

I must say right away, it's a long way to the sea, and even uphill. Some guides cannot drive up to the hotel and find it.
But, the rating is based on the hotel itself, not the things above. I think it would be fairer. I never went to the sea, all the days the guides picked me up from the hotel, although sometimes a few streets below. In general, it is not critical. Going down is not going up ☝️
The rooms themselves are clean enough, the air conditioning is working. They clean it every day. The staff is very helpful, there is a laundry room, and it is inexpensive.
The view from the hotel is stunning, the sea and the sky.
There is a cafe at the hotel downstairs, the prices are normal, I will not say that it is expensive. The service is lame, and 10% tips are included for it at once. At the same time, this is not even in the restaurant on the way to the Ritz, where there is a glass bridge, delicious food and excellent service.
Anyway, 10% is not a pity. But absurdly a little. Payment is only in cash, there is practically no alcohol. I asked for half of the menu, they didn't tell me much or offer anything (so tips are amazing for me)
There is no breakfast included, but you can buy it at the same cafe. In general, there is a pleasant atmosphere in summer, you can take your alcohol, order pizza and sit and chat. The air is good, cool, pleasant.
In general, 4 stars are deserved, I put it because of the responsive staff, especially at the reception.
It feels, of course, like 3 (based on cleanliness and comfort in the room + cleaning). On the 4th and 5th there should be pleasant memories and sensations inside the hotel, but this cafe spoiled them.
Next time, of course, I would not go to this hotel (and I will not go), but I need to visit it once.

The place is on fire. You have to go up / down to the beach and probably not everyone is ready, but as an option - your own car. But away from the highway. A heated swimming pool and sauna are what children and adults need. We had a rest in Abkhazia in the last days of October, unfortunately, we found planned blackouts, but even here it is not critical. If there is an opportunity, we will definitely come next year

Because the cook is alone and he takes orders and cooks and counts the guests, then everything is very long and tedious.
The hotel is located on a mountain, it is difficult to walk to it, but not for long. The owner is clearly trying to do everything well.
If he was the one who cleaned the pool and the area around it every day, then he's a great guy. There were questions for the receptionist. Politeness seems to be on a separate price list, but rudeness is included in the price. On the negative side: an off-season room in early October 2023 cost about 5,000 rubles per day. It is forbidden to eat in the room by the rules of the hotel. How's that? The kettle is only on the floor. The hair dryer was given out in such a way that it was unpleasant for them, and just scary to use. In general, the hotel is cool, because it is located on a mountain and far enough from the sea, but of course for the money that is charged from the guests, the service needs to be tightened to the required level.

The best hotel I've ever been to. Polite staff, everything is clean and beautiful. The pool is clean, not crowded. There was practically no one in the morning. There is a separate conversation about the views from the room, this beauty will not leave anyone indifferent. There is a minus kitchen. We only ordered breakfast. But the pancakes warmed up from the shops are tastier than what they cooked for us. They didn't take any more food, so I can't judge the entire menu.

We had a rest with my husband from 05/13/24 to 05/24/24. I was met by a very kind hostess. The room is on the 1st floor, opposite the pool. The room is very clean, all the furniture is excellent, not "tired". Daily cleaning, change of linen and towels-on request. The view is amazing, the pool is heated. The pool was cleaned daily in the morning. Meals at the cafe at the hotel. Two girls are local chefs. They cook great. Everything is under the knife, so you have to wait a little. The staff is very friendly and responds immediately to any request. In general, we were 100% satisfied with the rest. We are going to meet in October. For Gagra, both the hotel and the service are wonderfully good.

There are only 2 chairs for 3 guests
They give out bathrobes, but for an additional fee, although the surcharge is only 250 rubles for the entire period.
Getting to the hotel is either expensive by taxi or by putting a lot of effort up the stairs and the serpentine, not far, but it was hard for me. The road is mostly illuminated.
There is nowhere to walk near the hotel, the sea is not very close, but a warm pool and sauna are welcome all day, although it is worth cleaning the pool more often. And the territory itself is not very clean, even if it is well maintained.
The main disadvantage is the lack of a kitchen or a decent cafe.

One of the disadvantages is the food at the hotel. I do not recommend it....especially with children. The prices are reasonable, the quality of the food is "stolovskoe ". She will never be different... even if he wants to ..." You can eat in the city.... However, meals with children in Abkhazia....this is a common "catering problem".

We stayed at the hotel for 5 nights. A very cozy, clean hotel. Friendly and courteous staff. The rooms have brand new furniture and equipment. Cleaning is done every day. Just an awesome view from the window of the mountains, the sea. It's a pleasure to sit on the balcony. I also really enjoyed swimming in the heated pool. One of the disadvantages is the difficult uphill climb to the hotel. It's about 12 minutes to the beach, but it's hard to get back to the hotel and you don't rush into the city if you need something. Meals for 4/5, we preferred another place near the hotel. The cook is a little rude in communication.

I do not recommend this hotel because of the location of the hotel. It is located high on the mountain. Going down in the heat and climbing is not comfortable, there is no car entrance, only through the top through the tunnel, because of this taxi is expensive 350-400r, you will not hit. Perhaps the owners will one day become customer-oriented and make a transfer for their guests, but so far, alas ... there is also no elevator in the hotel, nor a person who can help with a suitcase. So if there is no man in your company, it's worth thinking about. When the owner asked me to help carry the suitcase from the 4th floor, he replied that it was necessary to rent a 5-star hotel with the Arabs of Peter the Great… There is no closet in the room, just 2 hooks in the wall and 2 hangers. At the same time, we were told that our hotel room was the best. Upon arrival, you will be informed that the money is not refunded, apparently often people, after a day spent at the hotel, want to move out because in no other hotel, I have never been told this. The kitchen is straight for an amateur… I do not even know how to spoil the scrambled eggs, but they were able to do it-it was very greasy, it floated in oil with rubber bacon, I had to buy a festal. Among the advantages: a gorgeous view of Gagra, friendly and helpful maids (one even offered to carry my suitcase, I refused, but it was nice) the most unfriendly young lady at the reception. The duvet cover had holes, weak pressure in the shower. I will definitely never come here again.

I really liked the location of the hotel - you wake up in the morning and see the sea, in the evenings you can watch the sunsets directly from your room or from a comfortable terrace. Plus, there is a clean pool, which is very well monitored, as well as daily!!! Room cleaning. The room is very spacious, the comfortable mattress and pillows made sleep wonderful, the lack of a closet did not bother me personally in any way, since shifting things to a suitcase- closet is annoying, especially when you change several hotels per trip and there are hangers where you can hang crumpled things and leave the rest in the suitcase. The dining room and the female cook are of course specific, but you can also find an approach to it if you want. If you behave culturally, then you will be treated with due respect, otherwise, in my opinion, there is no point in waiting for a good attitude towards yourself.

Great hotel. Nice rooms. The pool is warm. The sauna is not very warm, but as a nice bonus. The kitchen is an ordinary home kitchen. They cleaned our room every day. And linen was changed and towels. We liked it. It's a civilization compared to all Abkhazia. The view is stunning, as the hotel is on a mountain, and because of this you have to climb up the mountain and up the stairs every day, the way up takes 15 minutes at a regular pace.
One of the disadvantages is: a long wait in the kitchen, only one person worked for the whole hotel, but a very nice polite man.

We had a rest with our spouse from August 14 to August 21. The most pleasant impressions remained. The staff is very helpful and pleasant. The girl Anastasia will help you, tell you everything, advise you. The manager (or owner) of the hotel is also a pleasant and sociable person, he suggested where to buy what. The cleaning was on schedule, in 7 days we had our linen changed twice, cleaned, and towels changed. In the dining room, Dina is a very pleasant cook, a little strict, but she cooks flawlessly!
The rooms are large and spacious. The view is incredible both in the morning and at sunset.
After reading the bad reviews, I realized once again that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder!
I only agree that the descent / ascent to the sea is really not for the faint of heart. It's a bit hard going uphill.

Yes, the hotel is on a Hill. But it's not hidden either. There are 3 of us (2 adults and a child of 10 years old) we went to the sea 2 times a day without straining. I would say the road to the sea is a pleasure. Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel. There is no place where there would be a wilderness. About food. 70% of the time we ate at the hotel. Yes, there are many cafes on the embankment. But for some reason, the kitchen at the hotel is the tastiest. A woman, Dina, is cooking in the kitchen. But how she cooks! I can't always make it so tasty and high-quality at home. They don't cook like that for the whole day. And clearly according to the menu for each room under the order! Beauty. Everything is homemade and very tasty. There is always water, lemonade, Sukhumi beer, wine, sparkling wine at the reception. The hotel also provides towels for the pool. About the pool. It's really heated. Not a turn of phrase. The water is about 27 degrees. The pool is cleaned 2 times a day. Since morning. About 8 o'clock. And in the evening. About 10-11 o'clock. Not only the pool is being cleaned, but also the pool area! The sunbeds are also washed. The room is cleaned every day. Clean clean, good. We had a rest in late June-early July 2024 with our family. And in principle, even before arrival, there were disadvantages:
1. No one told us that if we take a taxi from the train station, then the street needs a completely different one, since you can only get here from below by taking a bypass road through the Sukhumi highway. As a result, the suitcases were dragged uphill on foot, they took us to the wrong place, or rather they did not take us, because the car did not pass further along the winding footpath.
2. The room. We lived on the 1st floor. I don't know about those who lived above, but ants were crawling everywhere in our room, and most unpleasant of all, fleas! Fleas perfectly cling to your feet when you walk around the room, and then they go to bed with you. The result is that in the morning I woke up all bitten by these creatures. So they also brought this souvenir home in a suitcase)
3. Swimming pool.
Immediately upon arrival, we were warned that the intestines are rampant now! And we found her on the first day, in the pool. The child took a swim in the afternoon, did not swim in the sea at all, by the evening it became bad. On the morning of the second day, I vomited once. We thought it was heat stroke, as the child felt better afterwards and everything was (practically) fine the whole second day. But! In the evening, the daughter swam in the pool again, after which the child became very ill: he vomited all night, and on the 3rd day the temperature was under 40! My husband got off with only a fever, and I had a stomach ache for 8 days of this remaining rest. While we were being treated in the room for 4 days, we noticed that the children of the new guests literally swim in the pool for a couple of days and that's it....None of them are visible anymore, they caught the same thing as us. According to the conversations of the guests, everyone was on pills and polysorb.
So I ask the owners of the hotel, if you value your guests, change the water in the pool more often and disinfect it!
4. TV. The antenna was not working well, the channels were cut down and it was sometimes annoying.
5. You cannot extend the room, even for a couple of hours.
Positive:
1. Beautiful view and nature around.
2. Change of bed linen every three days, cleaning every day.
3. Polite staff.
4. There is a cafe, which is very convenient - you do not need to go downstairs.
5. Excursions can be booked.

We rested at the hotel Astana 26-31.08.23 At the reception, a friendly girl explained, showed, gave out the usual keys with a number,towels for the pool. Our room was on the 2nd floor for the first 2 days. A large wide bed and 2 single beds and a red sofa. TV, refrigerator for drinks. No water was given. Teapot, glasses and plates. The air conditioner was working. There is no wardrobe, hangers on a hanger, there were bedside tables. Shower room with toilet, mirror over the sink, hair dryer, set of towels, shampoo and gel, cramped. There is a small balcony with a table and 2 chairs and a stunning view of the sea and the pool.In the distance, Sochi Olympic Park was visible on the horizon. You can watch beautiful sunsets. The pool is small, it's good to plunge into it after the sauna.There is a dining room, homemade breakfasts, you can have breakfast on an open veranda overlooking the sea. It was necessary to wait for some time for the ordered dishes. There are 136 steps to go down to the sea, the grapes hung beautifully from above. It is quite possible to live, quietly, at home.

I do not recommend this institution, we rested in August 2024, came to Abkhazia for the first time, when we got to the hotel, the young lady hurried us to throw off the money for the entire period of stay and brazenly said that if we did not like something, the money would not be returned. She didn't even explain in a nutshell how to get to the sea. About the hotel: constant problems with water, sparks fly from the sockets, they asked for a thermometer at the reception, as a result, she gave a non-working one, said run to the pharmacy I can't help you.(and all this is a pleasure for 7500r / day), it is far from "60 meters above the sky level", walk along the serpentine there for 20 minutes on foot, the car will not go there, the taxi does not go either, or detour for 400-500 rubles. The bed linen was changed to raw, additional shoes are needed in the pool. The hotel was promoted at the expense of Avito, when we saw the upcoming path from the sea to the hotel, we cursed it in the truest sense of the word, the price of space, which does not correspond at all.

Very, very much! I liked the hotel. Wonderful rooms, spacious enough for two. Everything is clean and tidy, towels, personal hygiene items, bed linen are changed without a reminder. The room has air conditioning, TV, refrigerator.
There is a small balcony with a table and two armchairs. But the most important thing is the sea view! BOUNTY, no less!!!!
The hotel has a swimming pool, sauna. There is an outdoor veranda and an enclosed dining room.
Special thanks to the staff!!! Very friendly and friendly! It did not leave the impression that we had returned to our family and where we had been expected for a long time, even though we were in Abkhazia for the first time!
The food is varied, for every taste! If you want porridge, please, amlet- yes, here it is, even simple, even complex (with ham and tomatoes). Soups, hot dishes, meat, fish, pastries.... everything is there, everything!!!

We lived for 5 days. Why did you choose it? A new hotel in 2017 (not yet "rolled out"). The center of Old Gagra. Within walking distance of the sea, restaurants... you can walk slowly to the Oldenburg Park and its palace. But the main thing is the stunning view from the balcony of the room, the sea and the whole of Gagra. For the sake of this view, you can forgive the shortcomings of the hotel. Its main disadvantage is the uphill climb. The hotel is located at the foot of the mountain. There are no problems getting down, even for older people. It is cleaned and changed daily...The hotel is quiet, birds and the sound of the surf can be heard from the balcony. The charming girl Nastya at the reception has a separate respect. He will always ask how you went yesterday, tell you, help you with all questions. The room lacks a wardrobe, chairs and a table on the balcony. It is inconvenient to carry back and forth. Breakfasts and lunches were not used at the hotel... I liked the restaurant "Ritsa", down by the sea...but the prices are not cheap. The food is very tasty, large portions. Be sure to visit the palace, the Castle of the Prince of Oldenburg. It is under repair, but they let you in there for 150 rubles. A magnificent abandoned building with a beautiful view from the windows and balconies. If you have to visit Gagra, then Astana is a very worthy place

Gorgeous view from the balcony , clean pool (cleaned every morning), cleaning every day. The bed and towels are fresh . There is laundry for 200 rubles. The big minus is that the problem is with the cook . We were not fed upon arrival , they said that lunch was over and they were preparing for dinner .Although, humanly, it would be possible to offer scrambled eggs at least to people from the road and with children. And we've heard from everyone that somehow it's not very long to wait for food. It is probably better to make people book in advance, as they do in a nearby hotel. And another minus is that the bathroom accessories are not reported - they were put in once and that's it.

Astana. We stayed at the end of December 2022. Comfortable spacious room with sea view. There is enough space: two beds (with snow-white linen), 2 bedside tables, a refrigerator, a large table, two chairs and a table, your own shower, toilet, sink. Everything is clean, cleaning every day. Disposable shampoos and shower gel are updated every day (free of charge). They prepare food of your choice for an additional fee: porridge, pancakes, cheesecakes, eggs, sausages, coffee, tea, compote, cocoa, khachapuri. Everything was delicious for us, the portions were large. We ate very heavily. One of the days it rained, we spent it in a heated warm pool with breaks for a sauna (everything is clean everywhere, it is pleasant). What a thrill after such a day under a hot shower, in a white bathrobe, and in the room there are also heated floors! Very comfortable.
The sea is on the branch, the hotel is on the hill. Down 3 minutes on foot, up 10 slowly, there are steps. You can take a taxi from the main road to the hotel for 400 rubles. We walked in any weather. Vacation, we are not in a hurry, we are exploring the surroundings). The view is amazing! Day and night you can hear the sound of the sea in the room, but the noise of ours is not, although the road is closer than the sea)
You can put things in the laundry, 200 rubles. They were returned dry.

We lived in this hotel from 09.10-15.10. We chose a hotel in Gagra for a long time and decided to read good reviews. In general, we can not say that everything is bad, but still there are nuances that you just need to know about:
Location. The site indicates the availability of parking, but there is no parking as such. 4 cars at the entrance to the hotel-this is Parking. We were in October, there were not many people, but if at least 1/3 of the guests arrive by car, there is simply nowhere to put them. There is also no driving directions on the hotel's website, in this case it is important, because the hotel is located on a mountain in the literal sense of the word. I had to get lost. And of course it's a very tough climb. Although we are not elderly people and have lived in many places, but it is very high. You won't go to the hotel once again. Especially with children and in the hot season. Almost a vertical staircase with very small steps.
Food- well, it's just tasteless. I don't understand the positive reviews. The only thing I liked was khinkali, but we didn't get them all the time. In general, it is expensive to eat. Downstairs you can have a much tastier and cheaper breakfast and dinner.
Rooms: the rooms are large, spacious, underfloor heating, in general everything is clean. The cleaning is superficial, there is no trash can in the room, towels and linen have not been replaced once all the time. There are no towels for the pool, bathrobes for rent 500r/piece. The kettle on the floor was very surprised. Like a dorm. If someone decided to drink coffee in the morning, you can not wait for the kettle. We meet this for the first time. Well, if it's difficult to put a kettle in each room, well, at least a cooler or a coffee machine on the floor would make the life of the guests easier.
Pool: it's quite small, warm, but how clean I can't say.
The main plus is of course the views. This is probably the main thing that I liked. We were vacationing in the low season and the hotel was relatively inexpensive. But I wouldn't pay more. There are newer and more comfortable hotels in Gagra in the same price category.
In general , I liked the rest .but it's probably not thanks to Astana, because we only spent the night in the hotel.

I definitely recommend it. I liked literally everything. The hotel is cozy and warm. From the first day we felt at home. The descent from the mountain was a little scary at first, then I even liked it. A walk along the serpentine is only good.In the dining room, two lovely ladies will feed you tasty and promptly. It's not expensive at all. You can watch the sunset sea endlessly . The staff is very friendly. I am sure that I will definitely return there.

We rested for two weeks, the hotel owner washed the pool area himself every morning and cleaned it, WELL DONE. The jamb is large-WIFI for 3. There is nothing to say about the general parking, because the owner allowed me to put the car at his home. They have a family business, they work WELL.
