The airport itself is wonderful. But if you are flying from another country with a transfer in Xi'an, you must have at least four hours to transfer. I had 2.5 hours at my disposal and I was 5 minutes late for the connecting flight. First, exit the airliner and walk through the galleries. Secondly, it is necessary to present a health status code at one of the checkpoints, and it is better if you fill it out in advance using the link and you do not have to fill it out at the terminal. Thirdly, filling out the customs declaration, queue and customs clearance. Again, galleries to get into the terminal hall, luggage on the way, if anyone has it. The fourth point is to find the check-in desk, get a boarding pass, hand over the luggage (do not be surprised, but when departing from Almaty, I was not given a boarding pass and had to receive and hand over the luggage, despite the fact that the same airline made the flight). The fifth point is huge queues for inspection and exit to the terminal. The inspection is very thorough. And the bonus is that the landing is over literally in front of my nose. I return back to the common hall of the terminal, I am replaced with a ticket for another time (once for free). I am waiting for the return of my luggage. And inspection, terminal, waiting for boarding, departure. And so the airport is not even bad, in one of the cafes I was even offered Vodka in Russian right away instead of greeting. I am not an alcoholic, but these comrades somehow calculate that there is potential and it is not wasted...

They took off on domestic airlines (Terminal 3). The building is huge, there are starbucks and burger joints. The bad news for smokers is that you can't smoke and even in the toilet (the fine is not for children). The scoreboard with biometrics is pleasing- it came up and after 2-3 seconds it shows you where to go to the gate and all the information about the flight.
