I will give 5 stars to this location just for the honor of Soviet people. But the staff in the museum was very unfriendly. I was there with my little son and the way they treated us was rude. Constantly following our steps. The staff is 1 star !
Place that all schools from Europe , need to visit. To know what’s happened in period 2 world war. For me was so dramatic, heir of my head go up. Amazing museum , big big recommendation to visit.
The majestic museum building was erected in a landmark place of the Belarusian capital — next to the stele "Minsk — the hero City" - and is part of the Pobeda Museum and Park complex. The architecture of the building impresses with its scale and symbolism, it harmoniously combines monumentality and modern technology.
The area of 10 exhibition halls is 4,200 square meters, where over 8 thousand exhibition materials are presented. The museum's funds consist of 30 collections and number over 155 thousand items of storage: photographs, documents, letters and personal belongings of participants of the Great Patriotic War.
One of the business cards of the city of Minsk. Every Belarusian should visit here, especially the younger generation. And, of course, the guests of the capital will also be very interested.
A great museum! It is modern, with a large number of diverse exhibits, which are presented in a variety of ways: in traditional form, in the form of interactive installations and in the form of broadcasts of film fragments. The multi-level arrangement of the exhibits allows you to view objects from different angles. Young, energetic, interesting guides, with great zeal, conduct amazing excursions, sightseeing and thematic (Viktor Sergeevich worked with us, but we saw others in action), answer questions, express their point of view on certain events. We were very satisfied!
The museum is very modern, well equipped technically, the narrative is well read, full immersion in all the hardships of wartime.
I highly recommend combined excursions, I was lucky to get on such a tour guide Victoria, knows the material perfectly, the story comes to life in her words. In an hour and a half, I felt the huge emotional effect of the museum objects combined with the tour - it seemed to me that every listener could barely hold back tears, especially in the halls about the occupation regime.
On the downside, I didn't really understand why there are no discounts for visiting graduate students. But in general, of course, a regular ticket is not expensive at all. I definitely recommend you to visit.
One of the most amazing museums dedicated to the Great Patriotic War, which I have visited. Everyone is required to visit - both citizens and tourists from faraway lands. This is our history - the history of the common Fatherland. The feat of a Soviet soldier should never be forgotten. Thank you to everyone who built this museum, collected material. A huge amount of large-scale equipment, including captured ones. Book a few hours to explore the museum and be sure to take a tour!
We were with children aged 6, 5 and 3.5 years old. The impressions are the best. The staff is attentive and friendly. They'll tell you everything. Interactive screens are present, you can sit down and watch old movie recordings. Banquettes and sofas are enough to take a break. Each room is dedicated to a period of the war, an event or a personality. There was a lot of equipment that attracted children's attention, musical or sound accompaniment could be heard from the speakers, "Katyusha" was playing unobtrusively in one of the halls and our kids sang along to it from the bottom of their hearts. A separate hall is dedicated to the international wars. Special attention should be paid to the exhibition of paintings by the artist Savitsky M.A. The canvases vividly tell about the horrors of concentration camps and fascism. Perhaps someone will say that such paintings are not for the child's psyche, but the younger one did not pay attention, but the older ones asked a huge number of questions, expressed their assumptions and versions, anxiety and regret were read in their eyes. By the way, the museum has a hall for children, classes are held there, but it operates according to its own separate schedule. We didn't manage to get in, but it certainly didn't spoil the experience!
Thanks a lot to the museum! My son did not want to leave, although we walked there for more than 2.5 hours)
The museum is large, bright, and has many exhibits: tanks, planes, cannons, etc. You should, of course, count on a long walk around the museum to see and read everything. We had limited time. Therefore, they passed quite quickly. But we were satisfied. We could park the car right next to the museum, but when we turned into the parking lot, we saw a no traffic sign. They decided that it was impossible to go there and parked the car on the next street. And there were plenty of parking spaces (as per the law of meanness). I marked the entrance in the photo with a circle.
It is a very interesting museum that contains dioramas, equipment, and military exhibits. For a small amount, you can take part in a group sightseeing tour, which will quickly and interestingly run through the main exhibits in an hour. The gorgeous bright victory hall.
And in general, they talk very worthily and interestingly about the role of the Belarusian people in the Great Patriotic War.
The Museum of the Great Patriotic War in Minsk is a place where history comes to life, and the heroism of the Soviet people appears in all its might. The museum's exposition is striking in its scope: there is a huge amount of both captured and domestic military equipment and weapons, which are carefully preserved and maintained in working order.
Each hall of the museum is a separate chapter of history, telling about the exploits, self–sacrifice and courage of the Soviet people. Special attention is paid to the tragic pages of the occupation war, genocide, and the suffering of the civilian population. These exhibits do not just tell about the past, but make you feel it, realize the price of victory.
The museum impresses with its atmosphere, thoughtful presentation of material and unique artifacts. It is equally interesting for both adults and children, leaving indelible impressions and arousing deep respect for the feat of our ancestors. I definitely recommend you to visit!
The museum is wonderful! Impressive in its scale. All the expositions have been created in a very interesting way. Recreated scenes from the military past. The architecture of the museum itself is impressive, the lines between the floors are erased, the expositions smoothly replace each other. The "Hall of Fame" is generally grandiose. We were there in sunny weather. The sun's rays greatly emphasized the grandeur of the place. Definitely worth a visit there! I was on an excursion with the children, I couldn't see much in detail myself, but it's a pity...
A very strong impression. I thought it would be a little boring for the children, as it often happens in museums, but here 4 hours flew by like a blink!
The museum is huge, several floors, tanks, planes, cars, everything is real, full-fledged installations, with earth, grass, swamps, rails.. Unbelievable! Panoramas, sounds, layout of the Brest fortress..
We took a sightseeing tour, it flew by like a flash, although it lasted more than two hours. And then they went all over again from beginning to end.
I definitely recommend it
The museum is not bad, there is a large area inside the building (several floors). Navigation is not very clear, perhaps everything is convenient with a guide, but without an excursion, the sequence of the route is not always clear. There seems to be a lot of technology, but it often gets mixed up. There is no cafe inside or near the museum, so it is better to feed the child in advance, or take something with you.
Visited on 2.01.2025. The parking lot is small next to the museum, there was a place at 10.20. We watched the exhibition as part of a tour group at 10.30 a.m. It was the beginning. I was lucky with the guide, he told me everything very interestingly. I advise you to visit with children to better understand the horrors of war. Prices can be viewed on the website. On public holidays, it is better to arrive early, as there are many visitors.
A great museum complex in a beautiful park! There are many exhibits inside, including life-size samples of Soviet and German equipment. It is very interesting and informative! It is mandatory to visit with children for their proper upbringing and to study the history of their native country.
I really liked it!
One of the best museums we've ever been to!!
We definitely recommend you to visit, a very interesting huge Exposition and a wonderful guide Alexander (a tall young man in his 30s with a long hairstyle) made our last day in Minsk unforgettable!
This is a very strong museum! Every Belarusian should visit here! Interactive installations, wonderful halls, real exhibits, friendly staff, super competent guides! The delight of visiting! Great sorrow from what I saw and heard...
The museum is magnificent, very impressive. Probably the most interesting museum in Minsk, which tells about the years of the Great Patriotic War and the struggle of the Belarusian and Russian people against the fascist invaders. The museum is, without a doubt, one of the best with a similar theme, absolutely everything is good in it: the wealth of exhibits, intelligent interactive, the unity and intent of the exposition, the building itself. Definitely worth a visit. There is a beautiful park nearby. There is a cafe at the museum, you can have a snack with the children, as it takes several hours to visit the museum.
I really liked the museum. The tour is interesting not only for children. Special thanks to Natalia Obukhova for the exposition of Hall No. 10, which tells about the internationalist wars of the USSR, who fought in all corners of the planet. There are many interesting facts that we have never heard of before. Many thanks for the reverent attitude towards people and our common history!!!
A wonderful museum and exhibitions. A place worth visiting for everyone who comes to Minsk. The nice thing is that there are days of benefits for students and students. In addition, I would like to note that it is still worth visiting on weekends in order to have time to see and explore all the exhibits and exhibitions. I like the fact that the museum is being upgraded by adding the ability to use smartphones and virtual reality.
It's an amazing place! The Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War impresses with its detailed and careful attitude to some of the monstrous actions of the fascists on the territory of Belarus and in the USSR as a whole! All expositions are made with great attention to detail, filled with that terrible atmosphere of the horror of war and at the same time with immense respect for the Heroes and victims of the Great Patriotic War! Many thanks from the Muscovite for this magnificent place of Memory, which once again reminds us of what happened 85 years ago!
Excellent historical museum. The real military equipment presented in the museum is amazing, the convenient movement inside the museum and the amazing hall on the top floor! It is very inspiring and adds solemnity to the moment. I recommend visiting with children
An amazing museum! I advise everyone. At the very beginning, you immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the war years, I was struck to tears by the musical accompaniment.
The 4 floors of the museum reflect all stages of the war, being very close to the exhibits, there is a complete immersion and it seems to you that you are standing on the battlefield.
The domed Victory Hall caused a lot of emotions. You can feel the power and freedom.
At night, it is amazingly illuminated by friends!
An absolutely stunning museum dedicated to the Great Patriotic War. A huge number of unique exhibits, professional, competent guides, themed halls allow you to see and learn a lot of new things. I highly recommend visiting the museum with a guided tour.
Impressive. Since my husband and son are very interested in military history, I have been to many museums dedicated to the war. Initially, it was not torn.) But I didn't regret it, it's very cool and interesting. At 11 and 13, sightseeing tours are conducted for combined groups (10 bel. rub per person per ticket), there are no individual tours. I highly recommend it to everyone.
An amazing museum!
Everyone who visits Minsk should visit this place.
The museum is deeply impressive both for its grandiose architectural embodiment and for its exposition.
An important recommendation is to visit the museum with a tour group (there is a schedule). The guide's story will leave deep impressions. A full-scale picture of what the Belarusian and Russian people had to go through during the war will open up before you. Everyone should definitely know this.
The territory of the museum passes Victory Park, a good place for a walk. There are memorial fountains in the park, and an excursion boat runs along the river.
An amazing museum, large-scale, be sure to visit if you are in Minsk! We were with a group of children aged 13-17, we all really liked it! Special thanks to the museum staff and guides! We hope to see you soon!
It's a very cool and spacious museum, you can see a lot of weapons, equipment, and even the reconstruction of the guerrilla camp, but 4 stars because of a very big drawback, yes, you can look at it, but in order to fully understand it, you still need to read and understand something, and there are not enough information stands, and on excursions they tell from Strength is a tenth
Of course, this museum is one of the key repositories of historical heritage. His exhibitions reflect important stages of development and are of great importance for understanding the past. Visiting this museum is highly recommended for everyone. It plays an important role in the preservation and popularization of cultural heritage. Visiting such museums is necessary to preserve historical memory. The exhibits clearly demonstrate the hardships and heroism of wartime. It is important to remember the feat of our ancestors and pass this memory on to future generations. The museum performs an important educational and patriotic function. This is a tribute to all those who defended their homeland.
I liked the museum, we were a family, the children were 10, 14, 17, thanks to the guide for an interesting and very touching story about each exhibit. Throughout the tour, tears involuntarily welled up from understanding the horror that people experienced during the Great Patriotic War, such places must be visited with children, they must know and remember.
Pride in our country❤️Very impressive and large-scale. A worthy memory of the feat of the Soviet people, the Soviet soldier and the heroes of the Great Patriotic War. Every hall, every installation evokes the most tremulous emotions. Everything has been thought out to the smallest detail. A storm of emotions is caused by a hall dedicated to the horrific inhumanity, the victims of concentration camps. And as the brightest chord of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, this is the Victory Hall!
How finely and precisely the information and design are chosen. The incredible Light and cleanliness, the transparent dome with the waving flag of the Soviet Union of Socialist Republics, the Victory flag touches to the very heart and fills
A big interesting museum. There is a large collection of unique exhibits detailing the course of the Great Patriotic War. It is better to go with a guide, the groups are small, and then explore the museum themselves. Children should know the history of the war and the price of Victory.
Only the advantages! A magnificent, logically constructed exposition with a huge number of exhibits.
Polite staff.
Children 12 and 14 were strongly impressed by the right thing!
One of the best museums dedicated to the Great Patriotic War!
A cool (if I may say so about this object) museum. New, fresh, modern. The museum is interactive, there are many exhibits, a huge elegant (goosebumps-inducing) hall of Fame. There is a sovereign, a children's room, an elevator, a convenient entrance and Parking available, everything is thought out very conveniently. Let's come back again.
I really liked the museum.A large exhibition. There are many halls, and there is also an exhibition of military equipment that is very interesting for both children and adults. There is a small cafe on the 1st floor and a souvenir shop.I highly recommend you to visit when traveling to Minsk.
A wonderful museum! Excellent organization of the tour, professional guides, gorgeous halls, after visiting the feelings overwhelm. Sorrow and pride, gratitude to our grandfathers for their eternal feat and endless love for our common Homeland - the Great Soviet Union!
The museum is one of my favorites. Large, spacious, good expositions. The child always enjoys visiting and always finds something new. Special thanks to the staff, competent and sincere people. I would like to make a small request, highlight information on photo and video shooting at the entrance and at the checkout in order to avoid misunderstandings. Otherwise, everything is fine.
A wonderful museum to visit. There are a lot of interesting visual and interactive materials, installations, and a lot of military equipment. We were lucky to have a tour guide, Valera, who we really liked in the presentation of the material. H
It's a great place. Super exposure. Interesting installations. There are a lot of different weapons from the time of the Second World War, there are exclusive exhibits. The full atmosphere of that time. 100% recommended to visit
It's a very cool museum, there are a lot of expansions, the installations are beyond praise - you can immediately see that the masters were in love with their work! It's definitely worth taking a guided tour, 2 hours fly by unnoticed! A must-visit!
The museum itself is simply wonderful, the expositions and halls are informative, interesting and impressive. but! There was a feeling that we were not welcome…We came with my husband and child at about 15:30-16, bought tickets and clarified whether it was possible to take an individual tour, we were sent to the administrator, they clarified it again and she said with a grin, "Yeah, you're generally late, you need to come to the museums earlier, the time is already at 4..." would you agree that this statement is superfluous? Well, the guides left for the routes and left, it's okay, we'll look for ourselves, additional comments to our address are unnecessary. Then two hours later we enter the last halls 10 and 11, which are located on the 1st floor, there are a lot of interactive expositions: screens with photos, sound devices, just sound near objects, lights, etc. I'm standing and looking at the photos on the screen, flipping through them, tears come, I'm just very immersed in it and then I see that the lights are starting to turn off at the other end of the hall, and my husband and son were there, I step away from the screen to see what happened, why there is no light, a woman comes, turns off the screen mine turns off all sounds, turns off the lights in other parts of the hall, I leave it to see where my husband and son are, the time for a minute was 17:50... I just leave, they immediately lock the door. It turns out that they are starting to prepare for closure, although the museum itself is open until 19 ... why they began to do this so early is not clear, and even if these halls close earlier (my guess is, otherwise it is not clear why they close the halls before closing), then the same administrator instead of poking us with the fact that we supposedly they came late, she could have suggested that there are halls in museums that close earlier, because she sits there to help people, prompt and answer questions…
But I recommend visiting everything exactly to everyone, this is our history, the terrible history of the entire USSR and many other countries, unfortunately there are very, very few such museum expositions…
An amazing museum! Three floors dedicated to the history of the Great Patriotic War. Exhibits from body watches to real battle tanks. A mandatory visit, the atmosphere is right immersed in that difficult time. We took a guide from a young blue-eyed guy-a real professional, obviously loves his job very much, gave answers to all our questions👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I can't help but leave a review! We went on a recommendation and took a guided tour. It was very interesting and informative, sometimes there were goosebumps and tears, a lot of original exhibits, impressive paintings by the artist, a former concentration camp prisoner, were on display. I recommend it to everyone. It is a must-visit in Minsk. By the way, the tour covers not only the Second World War, but also the beginning and background of the Second World War. Very informative.
Huge, fantastic, amazing. Non-standard space. An abundance of material. Sound effects, life-size equipment, Panoramic scenes. Fighting, guerrilla corners, an exhibition of paintings and the VICTORY Hall under the dome.
