It is a very beautiful historical place. An interesting and informative tour of the castle. The family stayed for a day from 5 to 6 June this year, a magnificent view, beautiful evening illumination of the castle. The photos turned out great regardless of the time of day. The room is very clean. On the ground floor you can buy delicious and not expensive tea or coffee. They did not go to the cafe on the territory of the castle, the cafe itself does not belong to the castle, the prices in the cafe are too high compared to the Cornflower cafe in Minsk. There are other cafes outside the castle, but many do not work, and where you can eat, prices are lower than in the cafe on the castle grounds. If you come to the Republic of Belarus and decide to stop by the castle, then I recommend staying overnight. I can say for sure that being in this historical place, we received a lot of wonderful impressions and we do not regret that we stayed overnight. The staff is very friendly. If someone wants to stay, then try to book a room earlier, it will be cheaper, but in general there are rooms. Room reservations are free, payment is made upon arrival, which is very convenient. Many thanks to all the staff of the castle for the atmosphere of magic, comfort and kind, friendly attitude. We will definitely come here again. Thank you🙏💕
In general, the assessment is very positive and that's why:
1. The beautiful territory of the park complex. Everything is clean, well maintained and preserved in a historical sense.
2. Belarusian castles are the most accessible for visiting by both Russians and other CIS neighbors.
3. A big plus of the approach to restoration and use in Belarus is that in the castle you can not only look at the architecture and go to the museum. But also that the castle is "alive". There is a hotel and several cafes.
On the downside: if you have already been to similar places in Europe, the exposition may seem a bit poor. But it is enough to recreate for yourself the life of the time when life was raging in the castle. And if you take a guided tour, then the guide will fill your journey into the history of the castle to the fullest.
So, considering all the pros and cons, I boldly recommend even sophisticated travelers to visit here or Nesvizh at least once.
It wasn't the first time, but it's still interesting. I especially liked the performance of the Scots. Very cool, fun, informative. Yes, visitors need to prepare to walk up narrow stairs a lot. We found under 5,000 steps.
The restaurant spoiled the impression a little. The administrators communicate through their teeth, the prices are quite high, the food is so-so. The cafe across the street is much better. But the castle is worth a look. Preferably with a guide. I've heard out of the corner of my ear how many interesting facts they tell.
This is a wonderful and very atmospheric place. Time has stopped here!!!! Already at the entrance you can feel the spirit of history. Very neat, clean. Everything is perfectly preserved in the castle, the guides are very competent!!!! I recommend eating at the restaurant "Princely meal": delicious, beautiful, excellent value for money. A check for three (one child) 150 bel. rubles. And it's worth it!
A great place to immerse yourself in history. It is better, of course, to take a tour, because the guides tell us interesting and detailed stories, clarify many interesting facts from history, about which they do not write in books, unfortunately. You will have to climb and descend into the towers using narrow stairs and very high steps, those who have knee problems or suffer from claustrophobia will be uncomfortable. There are special photo zones, but you will have to pay for them, inexpensively, 2 rubles, but still I didn't like it very much, I took off the star for this, because in the Lida castle, you could take photos even with armor and for free. There is a wonderful park near the castle, several cafes and restaurants, prices do not bite, even lower than in Minsk in an ordinary cafe. Definitely worth a visit.
A magnificent place! Very beautiful territory! A courtyard with its own historical spirit! I liked the souvenir shop in the castle itself, I was pleased with the assortment for any purse, for a small amount you can buy not only a magnet)
The walk through the towers was exciting)) Stairs are not for the faint of heart)) very cool))
We were pleasantly impressed) I have a desire to come here again)
A good historical place, there is entertainment in the form of installations. The interiors of the castle are amazing, from luxurious halls to gloomy cellars and an exhibition of household items of the inhabitants of the castle. There is a separate memorial exhibition dedicated to the tragic history of this place in the Second World War. One of the disadvantages is the queue at the entrance, although it moves quite fast. There are discounts for students and other privileged categories.
The castle complex and the surrounding ones - the tomb, the temple, the lake, the area around all this is a wonderful time to explore and explore. The majestic castle and towers, they are of course very steep in the entrance, but if you have a great desire to observe the beauty of the surroundings from above and good sports training, then you are not afraid of their (stairs) steepness.
Well , I will help everyone to go down to the prison , so I recommend that you look at the conditions of detention - it's creepy. Maybe that 's why people were afraid and tried to lead a decent life and observe the biblical commandments . I don't know.
We had a great pleasure walking here.
I recommend. And I will be grateful to you for
An amazing place, with a century-old history, we stayed for three days, there is a small hotel in the castle, we got a two-level room, a bed, a sofa, armchairs, cabinets, a table, a large refrigerator, two bathrooms, which was very convenient, two TVs, there was not enough kettle). The rooms are clean, all toiletries were provided, hairdryer, bathtub with hydro massage. The staff is very helpful. There is a restaurant on site, everything is delicious, there is a cafe just a stone's throw away, it's a little cheaper there, it's also delicious, but not so atmospheric, there are a couple more cafes in the distance, but we haven't been there. There is free parking for hotel visitors. The territory of the castle and the park is very clean, well-groomed, it is pleasant to walk, the place is very beautiful, it is definitely worth visiting at least for a day and staying at the castle, go to the museum and just take a walk, feel the atmosphere.
A gorgeous place: a renovated castle, a beautiful park around. Climbing and descending in towers is another quest: narrow passages, steep stairs. But we really liked it. We can take an audio guide, but we didn't get it. It's probably better to take a guided tour. On the territory of the castle there is a hotel, catering points, a souvenir shop. We got to a theatrical show in the courtyard of the castle. And the cherry on the cake was a volley from a cannon before closing. I recommend you to visit and plunge into this atmosphere.
An amazing place, great rooms, once you check in, you will feel like a part of that era))
There is something to see and where to walk, the rooms are clean and very comfortable, everything is thought out, even automatic curtains that open and close with a button, the staff is responsive and prompt, we liked everything, we will come back again! We recommend it!
It's beautiful, cozy in places. The entrance to the courtyard is free, there are plenty of parking around. The girls took beautiful photos and are also happy. We did not eat in a restaurant where the prices are horse-drawn, but in a nearby cafe, where they are 2 times lower. The assortment is really modest and there is not much space, but we were lucky and we fit in five. Walk inside and outside for an hour, if you don't go to museums. I liked it, I recommend it
A wonderful tourist destination. The beauty and internal structure of the castle is amazing. There is a restaurant, a hotel and a coffee shop on the territory of the castle. It is a must for everyone who is interested in history. It is most likely not suitable for sedentary and elderly people, since most of the movement inside the castle takes place along ancient narrow passages with high steps.
A very beautiful place! If you are here in sunny weather, you can take a lot of wonderful photos! People come here on excursions, you can relax and have a snack here. Climbing the tower, through the small windows you can see the surrounding buildings from a height. But be prepared for very steep steps. Untrained people have very bad leg pain for several days after climbing and descending.
It's a beautiful place. It has historical value. The place is a tourist destination, there is a hotel in the castle itself, a restaurant and a cafe. We were in the restaurant - the food was delicious. We looked into the cafe - the prices are cheaper, there is not enough space. They didn't take tickets to the castle, only to the towers and the basement. A narrow spiral staircase with shallow steps is an excellent fitness, we climbed up and down with pleasure.
Beautiful castle and the surrounding area. It is also interesting inside, especially on the walls and inside the towers, which offer excellent views of the surrounding area. There are a lot of people, we'll have to hang out on the weekend. you put in a couple of hours for an inspection, if you do not seek to learn the whole history of the Radziwills in all the details, this is quite enough. There is no special point in the guide, you can take the audio and not follow the leader in single file. Local souvenirs are sold near the castle, not all Chinese ones) are needed for personal ones.
It's a great place, the museum has all the most interesting things at the very top. The park around the castle is simply magical.
We stayed overnight in a hotel located in the castle itself, sleeping in the castle is a special pleasure, you feel like a princess))
The breakfast menu in the restaurant in the basement of the castle is very meager, but pancakes with cottage cheese, fried in breadcrumbs, with some interesting name, just a delight!!!
A wonderful and very beautiful place! With an interesting story. There are not many exhibits like in others, but there are a lot of interesting things! The castle is after reconstruction. The walls are made of old bricks and stones, as well as new ones.
The towers are very cool! Climbing them high is difficult and interesting! And they have a beautiful view)) the cellars are interesting, but the prison is not-a small room with shackles. On the other side of the castle there is a beautiful church with the coat of arms of the family, in the crypt of which there are burials..
A wonderful historical place to relax, walk and have a good time. We were a big company with children. Interesting, beautiful, I definitely recommend it and we will definitely visit this place again. Belarus has made us very happy with everything, we will definitely come again 🤗
The castle has been renovated, it is interesting to take a walk and get into that era. Few ancestral furniture has been preserved from the furnishings, but now the collection is being replenished with worthy exhibits. You can climb the towers, they have narrow passages and steep circular stairs and only for one person. They make you sweat. But the view from the top of the tower is not forgettable.
I liked the castle, the surroundings are also beautiful. You can buy a souvenir from local craftsmen for a small fee (cheaper than in Minsk itself). The guide was not impressed, there was a feeling that she was conducting excursions for schoolchildren and children (the expression "And we will find out at the end of our meeting", of course surprised me. We should have received an answer to any question at the end of the tour, but unfortunately we did not receive it.
It is a very beautiful and interesting place.
Visited in early April 2024 on their own.
I liked the basements and the exits to the towers. A lot of antique armor and weapons.
Steep and narrow stairs are interesting. The history of the castle during the First World War and the Second World War is interesting. Several Soviet and Russian films were shot in the castle - "Sniper. Weapons of retribution.", "Three fun shifts"
I recommend to visit. It is 94 km away from Minsk by car.
I really liked it)) it is a very beautiful place, the guide told everything in detail and interesting. We were impressed by the scale) inside there is a restaurant where we tasted some of the most delicious shingles in my life)) stairs leading to the top of the tower are not for everyone, their legs hurt for the third day)
A beautiful castle, mesmerizing from the first minutes. The music of the Middle Ages gives a special atmosphere. The territory is very well maintained. It is worth being attentive to people with leg problems, there are a lot of steps, at the exit from the exposition and in the towers they are very high. Do not forget to visit the prison, as well as the church at the back of the castle, this is included in the ticket price. I recommend a mandatory visit)
A beautifully preserved and restored castle with a love of detail, which has a good restaurant, a cozy inexpensive hotel, an exciting museum exhibit, various activities and a spacious beautiful area for walking around.
A gorgeous place, very very atmospheric. I advise you to stop by, the area around the castle is very beautiful. By the time of 3-4 hours, lay it boldly. The castle is just a delight, quite large, 2 types of tours of the towers, and a museum. The feeling of time travel is present!! I recommend.
Do you want to find yourself in the Middle Ages? You definitely need to visit Mir Castle!
Upon approaching the castle, you will be amazed by its majestic silhouette towering over the surrounding area. Huge towers, battlements and crumbling stones will take you to another era.
Entering the gate, you will find yourself in a fabulous atmosphere. Thick walls, steep stairs and mysterious passages will create a unique flavor. Imagine how knights and noble ladies lived here, heard the clash of swords and the rustle of dresses.
You will be particularly delighted with the tower, which offers a panoramic view of the surrounding area. From here you can admire the picturesque landscapes and feel connected to the past.
An equally interesting tour of the castle halls will be. You will learn about its rich history, the change of owners and how it witnessed many important events. Each exhibit will tell its own unique story, immersing you in the atmosphere of those times.
For example, in the knights' hall you will see heavy armor, massive swords and coats of arms. Imagine how feasts, tournaments and ceremonies took place here.
And in one of the halls you will find an unusual surprise - a crocodile on a chandelier! According to legend, his effigy was brought from distant countries by one of the owners of the castle.
Do not forget to visit the Radziwills family burial, located in the Svyatopolotsk-Mirsky tomb. There you can see the tombstones that keep the memory of a noble family.
A walk through the Mir Castle will take you to another era and leave an unforgettable impression. Here, history comes to life before your eyes, and you will feel like a part of the medieval world.
I really liked the castle. Its location, condition, decoration, paintings, portraits, busts of the Rodzeville dynasty. I admire everyday life, luxury and beauty. The castle looks like a residential one - installations, firewood in fireplaces, flowers in vases. The legends and interesting stories of the guide enliven the idea of the owners of the castle. I highly recommend visiting this wonderful place surrounded by picturesque nature.
Recently I was in Belarus and visited Mir Castle. I liked the whole castle complex - both inside and outside. Recent exhibitions and exhibits. There is a large park around the castle. Everything is very clean. There is a large parking lot nearby. We were surprised to learn that there is a hotel in the castle, and took note of it)) The castle also has a restaurant decorated in the spirit of the Middle Ages, with delicious cuisine (as indeed everywhere in Belarus).
I was there for the first time about 25 years ago. Therefore, I am pleasantly surprised how the castle was put in order. The interiors and ceilings were amazing inside. The exposition about the owners is also interesting. There are a lot of visitors, so it was not possible to get on the tour, the audio guide helped out. The Scots had fun in the courtyard of the castle. Overall, the impression of the visit was very pleasant
The place is definitely ready to visit! Very beautiful, colorful, atmospheric. The chivalric theme, it has always been interesting, here it is revealed, a lot of armor preserved from those times. Dishes, clothes, household items, swords, etc. The history of the castle itself is very interesting. We climbed the spiral staircases to both towers with pleasure. When we got hungry, we went to a restaurant right in the castle. A very atmospheric place, only here I finally touched the knight😊heavy chairs, massive tables, Viking music is playing, the food is delicious, cooked for about half an hour. It's not cheap at the price, but the very fact that you take food in the castle, drink hot mulled wine, is fascinating. There is a beautiful park at the castle.
An excellent historical complex. Excellent museum exposition. All historical epochs of the castle's existence are presented.
Perfect for a family visit. There is a beautiful park area around the castle.
If you have been to Ragnit in the Kaliningrad region and dreamed of seeing that architectural ensemble "as before" - you are here. It's cool that there was time, money, and people who were able to restore both the medieval fortress and the castle part. Now it's interesting, beautiful, and informative. The tour only needs to be taken for the first time. Right in the castle complex. It is better to get here by private transport, rather than as part of an excursion group. To travel at your own pace to all possible locations. By the way, some of the travel options may not work on Monday.
I visited this beautiful palace and park ensemble in the Minsk region of Belarus with the Viapol travel agency (in cooperation with the Moscow travel agency Rus). Stunning views of the surroundings, careful attitude to the heritage of antiquity, interesting educational excursions leave indelible impressions!
Very beautiful. It is definitely worth visiting this castle. It's beautiful, atmospheric. There is an opportunity to climb the castle towers, which offer stunning views. Interesting reconstructions. I am delighted with the visit.
If you are lucky with the weather, the impression of the castle will be enthusiastic, we had the sun, 26 degrees Celsius, the courtyard and exterior are admired, they are very tasty in the cafe, near the gate to the castle on the road, you can eat and drink beer on the veranda, this is for those who got on the tour without lunch, there there are tents with souvenirs, and horses running around the fields , there is a souvenir shop inside the castle, it's expensive, but they took magnets in the form of a castle, and there are cornflower hair headers for girls...they were not met either in Minsk or in Nesvizh, there is a restaurant inside the castle, but we did not go...
It's not a very big castle, but it's atmospheric. Here you can stroll through the gallery with a view of the city.
Affordable ticket prices, there are discounted days and discounted tickets, the caretakers are polite and excellent guides.
Beautiful medieval castle. A lot of work has been done on restoration, everything is clean, neat, in some places even too modern. In the palace part there is a large museum with exhibits from different eras brought from different parts of Europe, including Russia, so I advise you to buy a ticket that includes a visit to all parts of the castle. A good impression was spoiled only by the restaurant that is located on the territory of the castle. For half an hour that we were there, we did not even accept an order. The waiters were "caught" several times, but they refused to accept the order. And we weren't the only ones. They left hungry and disappointed
Taking into account the fact that the Castle is only 100 km away from us, we visit there, sometimes passing through, then precisely for the purpose of visiting, not that often, but, so to speak, we do. And to our pleasure, and I think not only to ours, the Castle of Mir leaves a rather pleasant impression every time. In general, to be honest, in our country, whoever is responsible for maintaining such places in order should be given an order, well, or a medal, as a last resort). Of course, taking into account the fact that the Castle is 80-90% new and it probably does not require endless restoration work with itself, but it also requires a lot of effort to maintain such a colossus in perfect order! The same installers, hacking with short breaks, telling visitors about medieval battles, pay them, feed them ..., plus they are sober all the time!) I purposely came closer several times to detect the presence of a smell known to everyone or other signs of "this", always by!) On the other hand, when drunk, wave a halberd, you can easily grab your opponent's hand...) Also, next to the castle itself there is a tomb of the last owners, Svyatopolk-Mirsky. And on it, on the facade, there is, I'm not afraid of this word - a magnificent fresco of the Face of Christ, well, or Saved by Man-made, whoever likes it better. When I saw her for the first time, I lost the power of speech for a while, and I saw it from the road, it was an amazing sight. Moreover, there are photos of the military-post-war times, she also makes an impression there. And here the mystery is how she, that is, the fresco, survived all the turbulence of the 20th century, God only knows, or His Son, Jesus Christ) By the way, during the war, in its first months, there was a Jewish ghetto in the castle, the place itself was Jewish, well, when this fascist nit came, which Jews were not killed immediately, those were driven there, and who went there themselves, no one knew how it would all end... And it ended the way it usually did at that time, it ended... Local Jews gathered in the castle from 1.5 to 2 thousand people, well, they were gathered, taken away from the castle for a kilometer, where they were shot lower and all, and our local collaborators, policemen and so on took the most active part in this case. Today, there is an obelisk monument at the place of execution and burial, a very sad place that, in my opinion, requires a mandatory visit... Although, this place is not a tourist destination and it will be quite difficult to find it without knowing... However, if you want, the locals will probably tell you) Still, a little further to the village, there is a Catholic church, also an interesting place. As a nice woman who was there told us, this church in the two thousandth received a new rector in an almost dead state, without a roof and half the walls... But today, it is a fully functioning building, with all the attributes of a religious building.. And now you wonder how people managed to restore it, taking into account the fact that there are only eight Catholic families in the village of Mir... Well, summing up all of the above, adding to this that there is still a pretty good museum in the castle itself, which is also desirable to visit, the place definitely requires our attention! Oh yes, there's still a restaurant there! A very attractive and very nice place with, again, very decent cuisine, but about it in the review directly about the restaurant. Something like this... Good luck to everyone!
A place with its own history. We must be aware that the wars of the 19th and 20th centuries left little of the authentic atmosphere of this "country house" of the Radziwills, but the museum staff is trying their best. While the exposition is still "in the works". But it's worth a visit, the photos are atmospheric. Well, have a cup of coffee in the interiors of the castle... In general, I recommend it. If you suddenly want to have a snack not in a castle restaurant, but somewhere cheaper in the World, it may happen that all establishments are already reserved for tour groups. Keep this in mind. Well, actually, besides the castle, there is an Orthodox church with its own history, a church and a synagogue. But here you need a good local guide. You won't regret it.
Mir Castle impressed with its beauty, an English park with a pond, a church-tomb of the princes Svyatopolk-Mirsky. We also managed to watch a theatrical performance in the courtyard of the castle, with cannon shots, drumming and sword fighting. There are steep steps in the castle, which are located in defensive towers, comfortable shoes helped me out when climbing)))
An incredibly beautiful castle, we have long dreamed of visiting it! It is one of the four UNESCO monuments on the territory of Belarus. We were very lucky with the weather, walked around the museum complex, and then had a delicious breakfast in the castle restaurant. I definitely recommend you to visit!
A great attraction. There is something to show the guests of Belarus.
Next, everything is for the guests: photos on "tired" carriages - 2p. Per person. Also try to get an elderly man on it.)) The employees only take the payment and make sure that the children do not get in for free.)
Nevertheless, the service should be at its best. After all, it was possible to dress up the workers accordingly, and help with photo and video shooting, and get up and down on the carriages too.)
Well, this is a lyric.)
It's stuffy in the halls...we understand that the temperature is over 30, but... and no one has canceled mobile air conditioners.
The year of quality in the country!
Let's match.)
Here..to be very brief.)
We were with the child and both were delighted! We climbed all the towers and galleries, watched the performance, shot with a bow and crossbow, squeaked and cannons! We went to the restaurant basement! I really liked the tour and the excellent guide! I really liked everything, we probably spent 5 hours in the castle and the park next to it! A must-visit! I recommend it! 👍🏻🇧🇾
We were delighted with visiting the castle, both outside and inside everything is very beautiful and interesting, there is still Nesfizh Castle not far from it, it is very convenient to visit both in one trip!I definitely recommend it)
A very beautiful and sincere place! We were with my husband in May 2024. We liked everything! Interesting museum expositions, a convenient audio guide with which we could listen to all the important and interesting facts about the museum's exposition without waiting for a group tour accompanied by a guide)
A wonderful historical place that allows you to plunge into the Middle Ages. A reasonable price for admission to the museum. There is a restaurant on the territory of the castle where you can taste Belarusian cuisine
An amazing place with its own unique atmosphere, there is an opportunity to try the local traditional cuisine, but you need to count on waiting, it will suit all lovers of antiquity. I recommend a walk around the lake.
The most beautiful castle I've ever seen. It is perfectly restored and quite modern inside. Inside there are many exhibits related to the history of the castle and not only. There are also very beautiful rooms inside.
There are interesting exhibits, you can dig into the history. And it's a great place to go for a walk. Garden, history, temple. The caretaker staff would be a little friendly, but it's kind of like a classic. And it is a pity that the castle got enough and the original appearance is lost.
