There is a very famous and more affordable and local market here in which basically you can see stalls of vegetables and spices, meat, fish and fruits and you will also get Indian spicy.
The Green Bazaar in Almaty is the oldest market in the city. Here you can buy a lot of interesting things, starting from national goodies and ending with jewelry ...
As in any oriental bazaar, you have to bargain here. Sellers, for the most part, are very fussy and friendly. I especially liked the rows with all sorts of nuts and dried fruits, they give you a taste of everything. While two rows have passed, we have had enough :)
If you like horse meat and meat delicacies, then this market has the largest selection. We bought smoked kazy (horse meat sausage), packed it in a vacuum bag and also gave us a piece of dried meat as a gift.
I definitely recommend visiting all the guests of the city! But keep in mind that the market is large, two-tiered, and it will hardly be possible to get around it in an hour. Personally, I spent half a day there and am very happy. It's like a paradise for a shopaholic 🤩👍
By the way, there are various cafes on the territory where you can taste national cuisine. Nowhere is meat cooked so divinely as in Kazakhstan 🥰
The landmark of Almaata is the Green Bazaar. Where there is a large assortment.Fruits, vegetables, nuts, sweets. So there are industrial goods. There are a lot of tourists coming by the summer. Listen to the speech of those from Georgia, Dubai, and Russia. There are a lot of students from India. But the group came from China. So it gets lively all around. Vegetables are imported from Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. You notice the queue for the horse kazy. Who buys smoked kazy, deer. Fish for every taste, fresh, finished. Variety of meat: horse meat, beef, chicken, pork. No one leaves empty-handed. There is a Turkish Delight factory nearby. That's an assortment of candies, chocolates.Cookies.Everyone is trying to be taken to their homeland. To please your loved ones. May our Kazakhstan flourish.
The Green Bazaar is a vibrant place where you can find fresh vegetables, fruits and local delicacies. The atmosphere here is intense, with many sellers and buyers discussing goods and haggling. Prices are often favorable, and the quality of the products is high. It is a great place to get to know the local culture and taste traditional dishes. In general, visiting the green bazaar is always an interesting experience!
A gorgeous place! A must-see for tourists, especially the central covered pavilion. A fascinating variety, the ability to put on the counter, you can always try and of course choose and buy. But if this is not an excursion, then you need to manage to find the entrance to the former technical premises under the central covered pavilion and then you can also buy much cheaper. There is everything from food, vegetables and fruits, things and household goods, maybe only large-sized for construction can not be found, but even then there are doubts, maybe I have not yet found the right entrance to the right room.
A wonderful tourist destination, a selection of goods for every taste, from exotic to purely national. Clean, tidy, we had coffee on the 2nd floor gallery, I did not expect that there could be such a fine coffee on the market! I recommend you to visit! There is a Turkish Delight factory nearby - sweets for every taste!
I haven't been there for many years.I came to buy a gold scrap. There are very interesting offers both in terms of price and quality.I walked through the market, bought cool swimsuits on the 2nd floor of the trading house. The sellers were all very responsive.By the way, we were lucky even with parking .There is a very large selection of goods there, I will be in that area, I will go to the grocery district.
A beautiful and very colorful bazaar (market) where you can find many national products and goods of Kazakh culture. The most valuable thing for us is horse meat products. There is also a huge selection of spices, fermented dairy products, dried fruits, etc.
A must-see place for tourists visiting Almaty.
The coolest bazaar in Almaty. I really like to walk around it. You can always buy something interesting, starting with groceries and ending with souvenirs. The prices are excellent. Vegetables are always fresh. The meat is super. You can go through the duffel bag. Everything is convenient "at hand" and you don't have to go far. Recommend.
Well, a bazaar is like a bazaar, only big. visited in January 2025. On sale, as in any bazaar, the choice is standard. Of the special ones, there is a boutique/store of Chinese products, very entertaining. We bought nuts at the bazaar, honey, and Aport apples (a unique apple variety known in Almaty). I recommend the Green Bazaar to visit, but once is enough if you are a tourist.
A wonderful place with a unique history. A huge selection of products, about 700 trading platforms. The quality of the goods is at the highest level, as certificates are required here. Parking is large, the location is convenient
The location of the bazaar is excellent, it is always clean, there are many different goods from food to textiles and appliances, everything is conveniently located, prices are reasonable, fresh meat is always available for any feast.
Good day! Somehow I treat the green bazaar neutrally, before, in childhood, I often went there with my parents.. The range of goods and products is very extensive, of course, wide.. You can choose everything you need and repair the building.. But, the situation there still feels like you're in the 90s.. Because when buying any clothes, at the time of fitting the same jeans, for example, you get up on cardboard as before and you are covered with some kind of screen or fabric and that's it))) It's still very dirty and it stinks.. I don't like this.. And so, in general, in the same Alma store, you can choose a lot of useful things..
There is a very large selection, excellent quality, and incredibly friendly people, both sellers and buyers. One of the favorite places in Almaty. He lived nearby, ran after kazy and onion cakes every day.
A huge selection of fresh products and affordable prices.
This is not the first time we have bought gifts for our family on this particular market. Everything is fresh and high-quality. And the most important thing is that the sellers will not let you go without gifts and small surprises!
The best place for tourists.
The sellers are friendly
There is a huge selection of products, they all give you a try. There is a parking lot. There is a bus stop nearby
I've collected a lot of things for goodies. Thank you very much
Do not expect that you will buy products very economically, especially the central hall is a trap for tourists they are brought there by buses, it is better to go further and buy on a budget, there is a market for things there are good national camisoles, slippers, etc., there is also a good selection of building supplies in the backyard such as wires, light bulbs, buckets, light bulbs, etc. well, in general 1000 little things, Korean salads, fish, fruits downstairs, but I forgot stationery with souvenirs at the entrance, there is an early bazaar outside I have never been, they say for a penny the difference is small with wholesale
A wonderful, clean, tidy bazaar where you can find anything! I especially like to buy honey and Georgian sweets there. Delicious and fragrant coffee is sold on the second floor in the grocery department!
The toilets at the same time, however, are not the best, of course...
It's a very atmospheric place. The spirit and hospitality of the East. You can come hungry and leave full for free - everyone insistently offers to try. There is a Wi-Fi in a cafe in the center. Perhaps those who love horses should not come here - the meat aisles are full of all kinds of meat, including horses. (
Otherwise, the place is a must-visit!
There is a lot of choice of vegetables and fruits and in general food like milk and meat.
Prices are normal and you can bargain.
There are other products, hairdressers, and more.
In general, I advise you to visit those who have not been there.
I removed 1 star for the terrible smell and dirt in places
It's a good market.
I visit the Green Bazaar almost daily, as I work within a 5-minute walk. The best bazaar in the city in terms of the range of products / goods and cost, but ... you need to know some features and be friends with the sellers ... dried fruits, groceries, cheese / sausage, milk- we buy with a colleague mostly from the same sellers. It is disappointing that the site in front of the entrance to the ZB, on the side of Zhibek Zholy Street, despite the protracted repairs, has remained imperfect.
The usual market. Pretty clean. There is an exchanger nearby at a good exchange rate for any currency. I bought spices, cheese, kazy - everything is fresh and delicious. I found the sellers polite.
The product is diverse, but not a large selection of men's clothing
The quality is different, it depends on the price. The quality of the products is good. The staff is mostly polite. But parking is certainly a problem, especially on weekends
