A very beautiful memorial near the entrance to the Nemiga metro station, where a massive stampede took place in the underpass on May 30, 1999. It was installed on May 30, 2002 in the form of 53 bronze flowers scattered along metaphorical steps and a small chapel with a metal memorial plaque inside.
The author of the monument is the Belarusian sculptor and architect Mikhail Mikhailovich Inkov. Flowers are a symbol of tragically lost girls (40 roses) and men (13 tulips).
We must pay tribute to the sculptors - the symbolism is five plus.
But the very decision to erect a monument to human stupidity is questionable. It's a pity only for those who accidentally got into this mess.
